About DPT
Formed in 2012, the Department of Parking and Transportation originally operated as part of the University Police Department. The University experiencing tremendous growth was a catalyst for a standalone department to focus on the parking and transportation needs to meet this growth. Now a standalone auxiliary operation that generates its own revenue to support various services, the Department strives to meet the growing demand of a robust and vibrant campus. Our mission is to support the University with parking and transit options all while keeping our focus on sustainability and forwarding our Transportation Demand Management goals. Many items have changed and/or been added since our inception such new parking garages, additional shuttle buses and routes, along with bike rental and bike share programs. We have expanded our surface parking to include meter spaces, carpool spaces, and electric vehicle charging stations as well. All in all, we continue to evolve and are always looking for ways to better service our campus community.
